Where all are welcome
Since 1987 our congregation has called Canonmills home. Previously a penny school for Robert Louis Stevenson, then a mission hall and a base for the 46th Edinburgh Company of the Boy’s Brigade, today the historic building is a vibrant church in the north of Edinburgh.
Though we fondly remember our Baptist roots, we operate independently and ecumenically with our ministry led by our deacons and congregation, working hand-in-hand to ensure all who want to be a part of church life and ministry are able to be.

Join us in Worship
Our ministry is unique in that we, intentionally, have no permanent pastor and instead explore a programme of visiting ministers, spanning the branches of Christian faith, who provide a rich variety of services in a traditional style.
We pride ourselves on our warm reception of friends and newcomers alike. You are most welcome to join us.
We currently meet for a service at 11am on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month and information on who is leading each service can be found on our Worship page.

Our Events
When we have public events planned at Canonmills Church, details will be available on our Events page.
Make sure to follow us on Facebook for all the latest updates.

Venue Hire
The church hall – originally the one-room schoolhouse – is perfect for larger events, parties and groups whilst our coffee room provides a relaxed environment for smaller bookings.

“The best things are nearest: breath in your nostrils, light in your eyes, flowers at your feet, duties at your hand, the path of God just before you. Then do not grasp at the stars, but do life’s plain common work as it comes certain that daily duties and daily bread are the sweetest things of life.”
Robert Louis Stevenson
